I don't have much to say here right now, but... I'm currently studying at the Academy of Realist Art in Toronto. I've been drawing since before I can remember. Wow, I'm not good at this! I can design and code a website to be sort of professional looking and I can't follow up and write two sentences about myself :P Ok, how's this: I was born in Mississippi, but I currently divide my time between Florida (where my family lives now) and Toronto, Canada (where I study art). Before I started there in 2005 I had had no formal art training whatsoever and I taught myself and read and drew out of any "how to draw" book I could find at the library. I'm pretty sure my fascination was fueled most by Disney, as I was obsessed with The Little Mermaid and other animated movies growing up. I'm still not sure on the specifics of my career choice, but I know that whatever it is it will be art-related. Right now I'm thinking of pursuing animation (traditional 2D preferably) or comic book art. Fine art, wildlife photography and illustration are also some big interests of mine. Design, costuming, storyboarding, computer animation... I love it all. I've never tried sculpture, though. Unless you count my kneaded eraser creations during model breaks... Oh, and Nike? It's not actually my real name I must admit. Nicole is the name on my birth certificate. But my parents have called me Nike since the day I was born and I hardly ever answer to anything else, so I feel like I have a legitimate right to it ;) Btw, Nike is the Greek goddess of victory, not just a running shoe. So, yeah... Maybe I'll make this more professional and even add a picture that isn't goofy looking at some point... maybe. Thanks for dropping by :) |
